Cashew Milk

My favorite non dairy milk is by far cashew milk. I do like almond milk but it has a very distinct almond flavor to me whereas the cashew milk does not. This is the easiest thing to do and tastes so much better than store bought in my opinion. Here is what you will need:

  • 1 cup raw cashews
  • 4 cups purified water
  • Nut milk bag {my fav are Ellies Best}
  • A high power blender {I used my Nutribullet Pro but you can use your Vitamix, Ninja blender etc. I just used the Nutribullet because its the easiest to clean}
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract {optional}
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Start by adding the cashews to bowl and soak for 2 hours. The soaking time varies on what nut you use.




Once they nuts are done soaking, rinse and add them to you blender of choice. Then you will add the vanilla, cinnamon and water. IMG_7689.JPGIMG_7688.JPG


Now blend for 1-2 minutes. While this is blending prep your nut bag. I secure mine around the measuring cup to make it easier to pour the milk into my little jug after.

Once you have added your cashew milk mixture into the bag you will just squeeze the bag until you can’t anymore. The bag will end up looking like the picture below and the remaining blended up cashews will look and feel like sand. IMG_7692.JPG

Bam! Now you have cashew milk to use for the next 5 days and it is soooo good. This recipe makes exactly 4 cups.
